First of all a belated Happy New Year to everyone reading this!
I fully intended to get this newsletter out at least a week ago, but have been very busy with people coming over to look at property to buy. Now is certainly a good time to buy in Puglia, but it is also an excellent time to book a holiday, particularly if you live in the U.K. The euro is at a six year low against the pound, something which may change after the Greek Elections, according to a currency broker I spoke to recently. However, wherever you live, and whatever happens to the Euro, now is still a good time to book as we have some early booking discounts for you….
Spring in Puglia
If you fancy a spring break, and I think spring is one of the loveliest times in Puglia (see why here), bear in mind that many villa owners, agencies, bed and breakfasts and hotels here are still very geared up to the Italian market. Traditionally Italians take their holidays in August and school holidays are also vary geared up to the summer months with very short Easter holidays and no half terms. For this reason spring prices (even Easter and May) are often at least 50% lower than the summer months, often more. For July and August availability is changing very fast, and some villas, in particular are almost fully booked, but there is still some availability left.
One of the reasons why this newsletter was delayed is that the motto here in Puglia is very much ‘domani si pensa’ or ‘we will deal with that tomorrow’… Add to that Christmas holidays which continue until at least the 7th of January and the outcome is that I am still waiting for special offers from many hotels, and for photos for a number of villas new on the market this year. I will include these offers in the February newsletter…

These will consist of short stays in different areas, with organized excursions and meals and with escorted private trips to view properties taking place in free time.
